What to Expect From Class?

Circular and ever-changing sequences that begin with gentle warming up to loosen the body, building up postures in safe, manageable steps to develop strength (sthira) and flexibility (sukha) and ending with cooling down relaxation. Classes will always include sun or moon salutations, core (abdominal) strength work, stretching, twisting and balancing. I teach you to breathe in time with your movement to find a graceful and rhythmic flow that settles the mind. Music that complements the movement and hands on assists are an integral part of the class.

An important feature of class is the opportunity to develop ‘a community of practice’. We practice in a circle and draw energy and motivation from our connection with others as we move together. The themes of my classes are inspired by the natural circles of the seasons, times of day, solar and lunar cycles.
